The venue - The venue itself is located inside Busbridge Lakes magnificent bird sanctuary - hold your greeting reception on the side lawn in front of the coach house and then stroll down to your marquee situated on the main lawn overlooking the splendid Canal lake. You can download a map of the grounds HERE, which shows the venue location shaded in grey. Large marquees or tipis of your choice can be accommodated for up to 200 guests, however by special arrangement the venue can be expanded.
Photographs – To enable you to take advantage of this magnificent setting for your wedding photographs, the wedding party will have complimentary access to areas of the parkland shaded on the map of the grounds in dark green and by prior arrangement shaded in light green. Click HERE to see an interactive map showing the truly unique photo locations including the Gothic Boathouse, the Doric Temple, the stone bridge over the Canal lake and the Ghost walk. Whilst you are having your photographs taken and prior to your wedding breakfast, your guests can also wander around the Canal lake and enjoy the splendours and delights of Busbridge Lakes. You can also have access to Busbridge Lakes to have your engagement photographs taken.
Bride’s room – We can offer complimentary use of a self-contained downstairs bedroom and bathroom inside the historic coach house for the bride to use on the day.
Storage – Many couples wish to have small items delivered prior to the date of your wedding reception and with prior arrangement we can offer a locked cupboard & room for such a need.
Prior access to the venue – We understand that the planning of your wedding reception is very important to you and therefore we will happily let you, your immediate family and key members of you wedding party to visit by arrangement to help pre-plan your day. As part of the package you can also have an engagement shoot down at Busbridge Lakes.
Wedding room (upper barn) & lower barn - In the lower courtyard we have a barn for complimentary use, the lower section is open fronted and can be used by you to prepare your decorations, for florists to prepare your flowers (trestle table supplied) or to store bulky equipment, there is also a large lockable cupboard where you can store items. In the upper section we have a lockable room, where suppliers can relax, bands change and make tea & coffee. All we ask is you leave both areas clean as you found them.
Wedding suppliers – Your marquee wedding reception is a blank canvas for you to design. To help you in this, we have a list of carefully selected wedding suppliers to choose from. You can download the list HERE or you can find links at the bottom of this page. Additionally to your chosen suppliers we will have parking attendants, security and a supervisor.
Exclusivity – You will have exclusive access to the venue and we guarantee not to hire out other parts of Busbridge Lakes within the bird sanctuary to anyone else during this period.
Last dance & carriages – Last dances finish by 11.00pm, with carriages departing no later than 11.30pm.
Booking dates – As Busbridge Lakes is open to the public on set days; to protect your privacy we do not take bookings on the day prior and on these days. Open dates can be found at HERE. In addition we do not normally take wedding reception bookings in November, December, January & February.
Pets/Fireworks/Fires – As Busbridge Lakes is a bird sanctuary we regret that, other than guide dogs, hearing dogs and other assistance dogs, no pets or other animals are allowed. Additionally fireworks, Chinese lanterns or similar items are not allowed. In regards to fires except for some of the Tipi style raised fire pits, fire pits are not allowed.
Location & access – Busbridge Lakes is situated just 40 miles from central London with easy access from the A3. You can download directions HERE. There is plenty of parking for cars and coaches. There can be vehicle access to the marquee for disabled guests and enhanced access disabled portable loos can be hired in.
Quotation – Once you have had an opportunity to visit the venue (or to call) and discuss your needs with us, we will provide a quotation for the booking of the venue.
