When establishing your new birds, some points will be of assistance:

1. Do not let your birds out in the dark, but allow maximum day light hours for them to find out their new surroundings.

2. Have a regular food point and feed once or twice a day on a mixture of wheat and Duck/Poultry Maintenance Grower/Breeder pellet. Some species i.e. Mergansers, Goldeneye and Stifftails etc an addition of Sea Duck floating pellet is recommended. Birds can be Hopper fed, but will need to be introduced to the method.

3. Predators are the main cause of death. Ideally your enclosure should be FOX PROOF. Please click here for more details on fencing or enquire for detailed information on the construction of fences. Rats and Mink need to be controlled at all times. Worming is recommended once or twice a year according to your infestation.
